This project organizes Masai women who decide to leave their homes to found new communities to carry out an ecological task that will contribute to minimize the impact that livestock has on the grassland areas of the savanna. To this end, these women manage an enclosure that avoids the free entry of livestock. Into the fenced area, the women manage the growth and the use of the grass to rationalize it during the dry season. The enclosure should be kept carefully and frequently monitored to prevent both livestock and wildlife from invading it in a time of scarcity, spoiling the project. The system is so successful that it creates surpluses, even allowing the sale of grass to neighboring communities. In addition, seeds are collected annually before cutting the grass. These seeds are used to replicate the project in other communities. With African Conservation Center and Amboseli Ecosystem Trust.
